Description/Blazon
On a pentagon 1 1/4 inches (3.18 cm) in height, one point down, Gules, the crest for the National Guard of the State of Massachusetts Proper (On a wreath of the colors Argent and Gules a dexter arm embowed, clothed Blue and ruffed White Proper the hand grasping a broad sword Argent the pommel and hilt Or) above six mullets in chevron reversed Or.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was originally approved for the 51st Field Artillery Brigade on 5 January 1939.  It was redesignated for the Headquarters and Headquarters Battery, 26th Infantry Division Artillery on 14 May 1982.  The insignia was redesignated for the 79th Troop Command on 15 August 2011.
